HEALTH SAFETY MEASURES DURING RAINY SEASON

Monsoon is one of the charming, enjoying, refreshing seasons, which makes the surroundings full of greenery, and promotes active health and happy mood. The rainy season revitalizes the whole surviving things on the earth. Monsoon is one of the fondest seasons, which mends the upset mood of the people. One can also say a romantic season. It brings beautiful and attractive looks, to the nature. Sometimes the rainy season becomes hazardous for the nature causing various certainties called landslide, floods, etc. which disturb the whole environment badly. Even though the monsoon is pleasant season, but also causes several diseases. The resistance level of the infections and fighting level of the body reduces during rainy season. Hence, people are more likely to get infectious diseases called cold cough, jaundice, typhoid, dysentery, flu, etc. Some of the severe diseases called malaria, dengue, is largely seen this season; since, the accumulation of the water takes place in each part of the area, which enhances the growth of mosquitoes, and results high risk of malaria and dengue. One must take care of their kids; since, they play outdoor games, and are more likely to get these diseases. Not only this, people also suffer from various skin related diseases called eczema, itching, skin fungal infections, ring worm, etc. Children are seen more at risk of certain diseases. One needs to take proper care in the rainy season; since, it is one of the most diseases carrying season. Some of the healthy tips, which a person must follow during the rainy season, are given below.

Foods

One should be extremely cautious about eating outside foods; since, in rainy season the risk of food poisoning arises more, and the people surely get this problem by eating outside food (hawkers). In India, food poison is commonly seen in the rainy season because of unhygienic way of preparation. Most of the people fond to prefer hawker food (open and unhealthy), which is responsible for intestinal infections. Try to consume vegetables and fruits in rainy season, but see that vegetables don’t contain any worms.  Since, in rainy season some of the vegetables like cauliflower, spinach, cabbage, lady fingers, etc. gets worm in it, which may cause stomach infectious diseases. The appetite level of the body reduces in rainy season because of moisture. One must eat fresh and clean foods. Do wash the fruits and vegetables properly, to remove the stain and germs of it. Try to maintain proper balanced diet. Be careful about the food selection to eat.

Note: – An office going person should prefer home food especially in rainy season, to avoid the risk of various ailments.

Drink safe water

Rainy season is the main factor, to cause infectious diseases. Jaundice is the most common disease, which a person faces during monsoon because of contaminated water. One needs to be extremely cautious about drinking water or fluids; since the water becomes impure during this season. Try to drink purified water, boiled water, and freshwater. Avoid drinking outside fluids; since, impure water diseases are so severe that it may take the life of the person. Mostly, it is observed that people, prefer to drink less water during monsoon due to moisture. The wetness of the body reduces the desired level, of the water. Be careful about the drink selection in this season.

Note: – one should consume sufficient and pure water during rainy season, to keep the body hydrated.

Drink tea

Prefer to drink black tea during monsoon season; since, it facilitates the flow of blood and reduces the calmness, of the body. Ginger tea, cinnamon tea, cardamom tea, black pepper with ginger and salt, etc. are some of the list of the tea, which helps prevent from various infectious diseases during rainy season. It is also called herbal tea, which aids treat could cough, throat infections, sore throat, irritating respiratory system, etc.

Keep the clothes clean

Avoid getting wet in the rain; since, it may cause fever, shivering, body pain, headache, cold cough, etc. Do not wear wet clothes for a longer period; since, it causes skin problems called itching, skin rashes, fungal formation, etc. It is also found harmful, for the health. Wetting continuously in rainy season may cause severe headache problem, which may take the life, of the person. Do not share your clothes; wash your clothes once it gets wet, in the rain.

Note: – try to avoid wearing jeans in the rainy season; since, jeans absorbs more water and take time to get dried. Try wearing cotton clothes; since, the chances of fungus formation are less.

Some safety measures

Use an umbrella or rain coat while going out, avoid wearing shoes with socks, wear waterproof slippers or shoes, don’t let the water pass in; since, it may create skin fungal infections. Keep the surroundings clean and hygienic, to prevent from mosquitoes and various diseases. Keep the house and household things clean; since, the chances of fungal growth are more in the rainy season, due to wetness. Use certain pest control to avoid mosquitoes, and flies in the home. Take extreme care of your children; keep noticing their overall activities eating, drinking, wearing, playing and all. Skin diseases are common in this season, so try to take precaution and use certain skin creams, to get prevented from skin infections. See that your child washes the hand properly; use hot water to take a bath; since, it helps remove the stain, of the body. Well, one can also get stabilized temperature of the body.

Health checkup

In case of fever, cold cough, body pain, and many other related problems, consult the doctor without fail; since, its ignorance may lead to severe health issue. Monsoon is the season of several diseases, people mostly fall sick in this season and find difficult to treat; since, it’s likely to break down the immune system. The rates of severe disease called malaria and dengue arises in this season. Hence, one needs to maintain regular check up with the doctors.
